Café Femenino Foundation was established in 2004 in an effort to give agency to disadvantaged women in coffee-growing communities. The foundation focuses on increasing educational opportunities, giving women the resources needed to support themselves—including microloans—and educating the community at large about the rights of women. While they do rely on donations and volunteer work as well, selling coffee beans from the communities they support also helps to fund their efforts.
Sonofresco is proud to offer Café Femenino coffee beans. All offerings from the foundation are high-quality, fair-trade, organic coffees. When you purchase from us, we increase the proceeds of the foundation by donating an additional 5 cents per pound purchased to the Café Femenino grant program.
