The fundamental objective of good roasting should be to reveal the best flavors of any particular coffee. This is best achieved by roasting consistently in color and time-temperature profiles designed to match the characteristics of a particular coffee. Too fast a roast gives insufficient time for flavor development. A longer, light degree of roast allows the coffee to reveal its true flavors. Darker roasts develop caramelized flavors with a sweeter aftertaste, more suitable for espresso. Quick cooling following the roast helps stabilize the brightness of a coffee associated with high acidity.
This is an upgrade kit for Pre-2014 roasters not equipped with Advanced Definition Roasting.
When any Sonofresco Roaster is used indoors it must be vented outdoors to remove heat, exhaust gasses, and the minimal amount of smoke created during roasting. Sonofresco offers two venting systems; a simple direct Vent Kit, and a Power Vent Hood to match the Roaster which includes an extraction fan and light. You may also construct your own venting system, keeping in mind that you must do it in a way that does not create any back pressure on the Roaster. Our technical staff is happy to advise customers about their venting needs.
The attractive Vent Hood (120v only) provides an extraction fan and light above the Roaster. Available in Red or Stainless Steel to match your Roaster, fits both 1-lb. and 2-lb. Roasters.
